How to do research
This webinar focuses on the different approaches commonly used by students in their social science dissertations. It introduces you to a variety of quantitative and qualitative approaches that can be used to study the social world and will begin to discuss some of the merits and drawbacks of these different methods. Some of these themes are explored in more detail in Brookfield, C and Lewis, J (2022) Sage Super Quick Skills: Plan your Dissertation.
"The academic mentor that you have been allocated who will help, guide, and monitor your process throughout the lifecycle of the dissertation." (p.13)
"All research should be ethically sensitive. This means minimizing risks to yourself as a student researcher, to the participants in the project, and to the university that you represent." (p. 83)
